victoria and lynne like bowling and cats and each other (as i’ve previously documented in their engagement session), and i had a great time photographing at their wedding at st. stephen’s episcopal church in durham.
i’m a huge fan of any couple that plays ‘love shack’ during the reception. so much love, ladies!

heather, her mom judy and i spent some quality time together in the freedom park bathroom getting her into this gorgeous dress.

i worked with haymaker last week, observing and documenting a draft performance of their newest adaptation of elektra.
our promotional photos included blood, mud and tupperware.
the first draft featured a boxing match and chopping wood on-set with a maul, which sadly i did not get a chance to photograph. (i saw it though, and it was awesome).
this performance was a repeating scene between elektra and her mother, clytemnestra, with several metronomes and a building intensity that i hope carries through in these photographs.

the masterminds behind this show: dan, akiva and emily.

i did a rad durham-themed engagement session with brittany and ryan on sunday. we visited chaz’s bull city records, walked around the central park/warehouse district, and ended up at cocoa cinnamon to drink iced lattes and play cards against humanity, which is like apples to apples times infinity.
their responses to ‘a romantic candlelit dinner would be incomplete without _____”?
crystal meth/stephen hawking talking dirty. i won’t say who put down what card.

ozzy and kristin are superheroes, so naturally their daughter sofie is a future superhero-with a cape AND a tutu. i appreciate these fashion choices. they jumped on a trampoline and played in a fort, then we ate gluten free pancakes and caught up on dinosaur train. perfect day.
also, check out the insanely accurate freddie mercury doll kristin made for sofie! she’s obsessed, and i am, too.

victoria and lynne are expert bowlers, cat-fans, crossword-puzzle-doers, and are getting married next weekend! if this portrait session is any indication of what their wedding will be like, then i am very excited.
