A new year, a new site (sort of)

image

I’ve had this huge to-do list in my office for a while. I’ve been chipping away at it this winter: taxes (complete), scan and archive paperwork (complete), organize gear (complete), and redesign website and portfolio. Pause. Not so complete. There was some mental block keeping me from finishing this task, but I found myself on Galentine’s Day (yes, it’s a thing) finally digging through my archives to find my best photographs. It’s such a bizarre undertaking- I have to shut up the part of me that says, “What are you doing? You don’t have enough amazing photographs to create a solid body of work!”

And then there’s the coding, but that’s a whole other headache.

After a while this task stopped making my head hurt and started making me smile. It was a perfect reminder that this is what I LOVE doing: connecting with my clients and provide them with amazing images to go along with their beautiful memories. So yes, the website is updated. No, I didn’t rebrand-I love my logo and fonts and all that silliness, but I did rewrite my “about” section to accurately reflect what it is that I do, simplified my prices and offerings, and updated my portfolios to share with you what I think are some pretty stellar images.

So there you have it: new year, a (somewhat) new site! Please explore and tell me what you think. I’d love to hear your feedback, and if you feel so inclined, contact me for a session.

george | portraits

I visited Duke University to document George with some of his medieval artifacts, a few of which he salvaged from an old twinkie factory.

little sprout farm | portraits

I took a trip out to Little Sprout Farm last month to visit my friends Becca and Dave. It was so beautiful.

victoria + lynne | wedding [04.13.13]

Victoria and Lynne like bowling and cats and each other (as i’ve previously documented in their engagement session), and I had a great time photographing at their wedding at St. Stephen’s Episcopal church in Durham.

I’m a huge fan of any couple that plays ‘love shack’ during the reception. So much love, ladies!
