gillettia is graduating next month with her masters in public policy, and we headed to duke gardens for a late afternoon session. the light was beautiful and the weather was perfect. congratulations, gillettia!

i photographed ruby and her parents john and andrea at their home in raleigh last month. they are such a sweet little family! i adore ruby’s little outfit-her dress is one that andrea wore when she was a baby. and those ridiculously tiny patent leather mary janes? so cute.

i met with antoinette and her husband matt to do a maternity session at their home in carrboro, before the arrival of their daughter salem audrey. a fuzzy monster-themed baby room? totally rad. i can’t wait to see salem in it!

alicia and jeremy invited to their home for another session with zuri, who recently turned nine months old. she’s growing up so fast! we had a conversation (i did most of the talking), and bonded over a mutual love of string cheese.

i received this beautiful email from alicia after our session: one day, when I’m gone, these pictures will be hers.  Or her daughter’s.  And when they remember me, this is the face I want them to remember.

that is my goal for all my clients: to capture their special moments so that they and their families can treasure them for many years to come.

last month i met up with maeve and her fiance, dave, for an engagement session. we had a lot of fun wandering through duke gardens-you can’t tell in the photos, but it seemed like everyone in durham was there that day! they are so sweet together, and i can’t wait for their wedding this summer.

maeve is one of my awesome 2012 brides. she wanted to do a portrait session as a present for her dad last november, so we met up at duke gardens to enjoy the last of bit of autumn. just kidding, it was 80 degrees! north carolina has ridiculous weather.

asajah & brandon’s engagement portraits, greensboro, nc. [08.26.11]

i love photographing happy couples! asajah and brandon are very playful and sweet, so their photographs were a breeze to make. they met in undergrad at UNC-G, and we did their shoot at the arboretum and in parts of downtown greensboro.
