gillettia is graduating next month with her masters in public policy, and we headed to duke gardens for a late afternoon session. the light was beautiful and the weather was perfect. congratulations, gillettia!

i photographed ruby and her parents john and andrea at their home in raleigh last month. they are such a sweet little family! i adore ruby’s little outfit-her dress is one that andrea wore when she was a baby. and those ridiculously tiny patent leather mary janes? so cute.

Bob and Aurelia are both actors based in North Carolina. You can see Bob in the Hunger Games as an audience member in the Capitol scene, and Aurelia recently finished performing in an incredible play called I Love My Hair When It’s Good: And Then Again When It Looks Defiant and Impressive. I am grateful to work with such talented folks!

last month i had a private cooking lesson with chef caroline of fiction kitchen as part of a contest i won through Triangle Meatless Mondays, an initiative to encourage healthier and more sustainable eating.
we made an amazing vegan meal-a jicama cucumber mango salad, tofu huevos rancheros with black beans, and mexican chocolate snickerdoodles. there aren’t too many photographs because the food was eaten pretty quickly :)

i met with antoinette and her husband matt to do a maternity session at their home in carrboro, before the arrival of their daughter salem audrey. a fuzzy monster-themed baby room? totally rad. i can’t wait to see salem in it!
